Founder & CEO

Wayne Ziegler

Mr. Ziegler brings a diverse industry background with over 32 years of commercial and senior leadership related experience within the energy and midstream industries.

Mr. Ziegler brings a diverse industry background with over 32 years of commercial and senior leadership related experience within the energy and midstream industries. Prior to joining Nueces, Mr. Ziegler served as Vice President of SemGas from 2010-2018 with overall responsibility for SemGroup’s US Natural Gas business. Previous to managing SemGas, Mr. Ziegler held a variety of senior leadership roles within SemGroup from 2005-2010, ranging from Vice President- Marketing & Sales to Vice President-Strategic Refining Services. Prior to SemGroup, Mr. Ziegler was previously employed by Koch Materials Co. where he held multiple commercial and senior leadership roles from 1987-2005. Mr. Ziegler received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas.

David Ash

Mr. Ash has approximately 20 years of experience in E&P and midstream leadership, commercial development, investment, finance and M&A execution.

Mr. Ash has approximately 20 years of experience in E&P and midstream leadership, commercial development, investment, finance and M&A execution. In 2011, Mr. Ash joined Nueces’ predecessor companies BlackBrush Oil & Gas and TexStar Midstream Services (“TexStar II”) as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to 2011, Mr. Ash was an investment and merchant banker in Houston where he focused on E&P, midstream and oilfield investments, financings and M&A transactions. Mr. Ash earned a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Operating Officer

Jasen Walshak

Mr. Walshak is primarily responsible for project execution and operational performance for the company.

Mr. Walshak is primarily responsible for project execution and operational performance for the company. Mr. Walshak brings an extensive upstream background that spans multiple technical disciplines including drilling, completion, production, pipeline and facility engineering, and resource valuation. Prior to joining Nueces, Mr. Walshak spent over 11 years at BlackBrush Oil & Gas, LP where he served in several engineering and leadership roles including 7 years as Production Manager and most recently Western Division Manager where he was responsible for overseeing multiple asset teams with E&P activities covering more than 220,000 gross operated acres located in the western Eagle Ford. Mr. Walshak graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development

Nelson Ferries

Mr. Ferries has 39 years’ experience in the oil & gas business with areas of focus being E&P, natural gas, NGL’s and crude marketing.

Mr. Ferries has 39 years’ experience in the oil & gas business with areas of focus being E&P, natural gas, NGL’s and crude marketing. Mr. Ferries joins Nueces Midstream from BP Energy’s Producer Services, where he has served as Managing Director from 2003 through 2020. During Mr. Ferries time with BP Energy he was responsible for all supply aggregation and business development activity around producers and midstream companies in the Gulf Coast, Texas and Midcontinent Regions. Prior to BP Mr. Ferries held various commercial supply, trading and transportation positions with Chevron, Columbia Energy Services, Enron, and Tractebel.
Mr. Ferries earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M – Kingsville and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
Director of Commercial Development

Ryan Acker

Mr. Acker has over 12 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry with areas of focus in crude marketing and refinery supply.

Mr. Acker has over 12 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry with areas of focus in crude marketing and refinery supply. Prior to joining Nueces Midstream, Mr. Acker served as Vice President for Texas Gathering LLC, a privately owned crude oil marketing and transportation company which transported approximately 25,000 bpd of crude oil throughout Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Mr. Acker managed over 100 direct and indirect employees and assisted in the growth and exit of Texas Gathering. Prior to Texas Gathering, Mr. Acker served as the Crude Supply/Trader for AGE Refining and Nustar Energy LP.

Mr. Acker received his Bachelor of Arts from University of Texas at San Antonio.

Regina Walshak

Mrs. Walshak joined Nueces in 2019 when the company was founded and is responsible for managing all accounting and human resources functions.

Amber Koontz
Office Manager

Amber Koontz

Ms. Koontz has over 10 years of experience in the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry.

Ms. Koontz has over 10 years of experience in the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry. Ms. Koontz joined Nueces Midstream when founded in 2019 and is the lead support for the executive team members. In addition, Ms. Koontz oversees the day-to-day operations of the Nueces Midstream office.

Brendan Bean

Mr. Bean has 10 years of commercial and finance related experience within the E&P and midstream industries.

Mr. Bean has 10 years of commercial and finance related experience within the E&P and midstream industries. Prior to joining Nueces, Mr. Bean served as Corporate Development Associate for Petro Waste Environmental, LP from 2014-2020 where he assisted in the startup, growth, and exit of the company which is one of the largest exits in San Antonio’s history. Prior to Petro Waste, Brendan was previously an Analyst for Fortress Holdings, LLC in San Antonio where he focused on commercial real estate assets.
Mr. Bean received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University, Rawls College of Business.
